Description-en-US Apocrifa is a close approximation of the APL-Normal typeface. It is specially built to be used at 11 points where it will give a fixed-width 9 characters per inch output to printers. A IBM Selectric typeball was specially designed to write a linear representation of APL (for A Programming Language). Historically, the APL font has been distinctive with uppercase italic alphabetic characters and upright numerals and symbols.
